Airport manager claims it is the most secured and safe airport in the country with 100% baggage scanning. International flights started in 2014-15.
Currently served by PIA and Serene Air. Airlines like Fly Dubai, Fly Jinnah, Air Blue, and Air Sial are being invited to start operations.
Expansion underway to accommodate Boeing 777 aircraft.[24][39]
